POČITELJ

On the way to Kravica we passed Počitelj – the medieval pearl of Herzegovina. This fortified village lies on the banks of the emerald green river Neretva, some 30 kilometers south of Mostar. The village itself is set within a natural karst amphitheater. The first mentioned writing comes from 1444, but the village mostly developed during the period from the 16th to 18th centuries under Ottoman rule.
