SYNEVYR LAKE (Синевир)

The Crystal-clear Synevyr Lake is called also the “Pearl of Carpathians”. It has been named one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Ukraine thanks to both its picture-perfect scenery and the mysterious legends around its origin. It originated about 10 thousand years ago as a result of a powerful earthquake when at the height of 989 meters above sea level a wide depression was filled with water from mountain streams. The lake still sources its water from mountain flows. Its square is 7 hectares and the maximum depth reaches 24 meters. The lake has a permanent temperature of +11°C. Around the lake are many restaurants and souvenir shops, its very touristic place, we had here also our most expensive dinner in Ukraine in Koliba “На Децу до Цімбора” (Solyanka 65 UAH, Shashlik with garlic baked potatoes 185 UAH, Chernigivske beer 0,5 l / 35 UAH).
