Our journey from Andasibe to Manambato via Brickaville was a memorable drive through Madagascarโs lush eastern landscapes. Covering roughly 170 km, the trip took us about 6 hours, depending on road conditions and stops along the way. The road winds through dense rainforest, small villages, and stretches of vibrant green countryside, offering a real glimpse into local life.
We paused in Brickaville for a local lunch (18,000 MGA for three), where a simple, freshly prepared Malagasy dish gave us a taste of the regionโs authentic flavoursโrice with beans and zebu, served with warm hospitality.
From there, the road continued toward Manambato, the gateway to the Pangalanes Canal, where the atmosphere becomes more tranquil and tropical.
