SENGA BAY

We spent a wonderful day at the beach in Senga Bay, a vibrant lakeside village and one of the most picturesque destinations in Malawi’s Salima District. Located about 120 km east of Lilongwe, Senga Bay is the closest and most accessible beach resort to the capital.

Nestled at the tip of a broad peninsula that extends into the crystal-clear waters of Lake Malawi, Senga Bay is renowned for its long stretches of sandy beaches, dramatic rocky headlands, and breathtaking lake views. The surrounding landscape is dominated by the Senga Hills Forest Reserve, a lush chain of seven hills that runs alongside the shoreline. Scenic hiking trails wind through the reserve, offering spectacular panoramic views of Lake Malawi and the beautiful Marelli Archipelago.
