UMLUJ (املج)

On the shores of the Red Sea is another new beach destination referred to as the Maldives of Saudi Arabia. The 104 little islands north of the town of Umluj are all about white sands and ancient swaying palms. It is a future diver´s paradise with pristine and almost virgin territory because there’s never been mass tourism. Some places have fantastic flora, fauna, and rare creatures, like the whale shark and hammerhead sharks.

Our main reason to stop here was to visit friends on our way to Al Ula, so we did not have time to take a boat and explore the nearby tiny islands.
