DELPHI (Δελφοί)

We spent one day in the ancient sanctuary of Delphi. For the Greeks, Delphi marked the very center of the world, a sacred space where human beings could communicate directly with the gods. Blending harmoniously with the superb landscape and charged with sacred meaning, Delphi in the 6th century BC was indeed the religious center and symbol of unity of the ancient Greek world. To this day, the home of the all-seeing oracle retains a magical sense of standing apart, not least because the ancient site stands in beautifully preserved splendor on a pristine mountainside. The entrance to the nice museum and site costs 12 EUR (08:00-20:00).
