VLORA

We arrived late at night in the city (as usual), but we still made a short walk along the huge beach walk. The next morning we went around the old city on a scooter. Vlora is an old city founded in the sixth century B.C., originally known by the name Aulona. Vlora is situated in a beautiful location, in front of the Karaburun peninsula and Sazan Island, surrounded by beaches and rocky sand. In the city is a nice Muradije Mosque (built 1542) and 20 minutes from there is Zvernec monastery situated on a lovely little island covered with pine trees.
