RANOMAFANA NP

In the morning, we went on a short three-hour hike in Ranomafana National Park (๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ 55,000 MGA, guide: 90,000 MGA, tax: 5,000 MGA), a 41,600-hectare protected tropical rainforest in southeastern Madagascar. The parkโ€™s geography is defined by steep, mountainous terrain ranging from 600 to over 1,400 meters in elevation, with deep valleys, rocky cliffs, and dense, humid montane forest.

Established in 1991, this UNESCO World Heritage Site protects rare species such as the Golden Bamboo Lemur and Milne-Edwardsโ€™s Sifaka, as well as 115 bird species. The park also boasts remarkable biodiversity, including more than 80 species of orchids, as well as a wide variety of palms and tree ferns. It is an ideal destination for hiking, birdwatching, and spotting chameleons and geckos.
